New Year Prep

New Year Prep

Every New Year we say the same thing right. Out with the old and in with the new. My husband has us in New Year Prep mode.

He believes in the superstition of your home being OCD clean to bring wealth and good fortune into your New Year. I have to admit I subscribe to it myself. I feel it’s important to create space for God, Source, Higher Power whatever your name is for the higher unknown to move. And so we rid ourselves of the old, and we make way for the new different and better. I also feel creativity needs clean slate from time to time in order to keep its flow.

In the design and decoration world, it’s important to clear space to prepare a room for its functions. If you read my blog you’ve heard me talk about the function of a room before, and how it’s an important piece to nail down before any designing and decorating can take place.

What to toss?

If you want to clear space in an area for the New Year check out the list of 25 things to toss below. You might not get to all of them between now and the ball drop but even just a few will set up you for decorating your space in 2018 in a way that serves you.

Your environment should speak to your dreams ahead as well as your days right now. It’s like dressing your room for the job you want it to have. Decorating it for the life you see yourself in. And that’s starts with decluttering. Happy New Year!
